What is The Future of Our Planet?

the effect of global warming

We have come across a variety of natural calamities with appalling proportion in the past decade. Whether it’s Katrina in the United States of America or the recent flood in Pakistan or natural disaster in Leh (India), the wrath of nature is writ large everywhere. The frequency is frightening, the magnitude is shocking and results are heart-rending. Why are we still ignorant about our roles in these natural disasters? The little things we do on a daily basis do contribute to the entire Global Warming phenomena.

Just how long can we wait? Until our fate is sealed?

The gory pictures of the victims who have been rendered homeless, sans food and water are a restless reminder of what lies ahead of us, unless we take control of ourselves and start being proactive and sensitive about our own planet.

We are humans, capable of acting on reason. The nature won’t allow us the privilege of committing countless crimes on the ecology system. We need to act now, right now until it’s too late. If we don’t want to see the worst, let’s do our best right now!

Yes, buddy! I will continue to write and propagate the message as long as I can. At least, I should feel I am doing my bit just the way I am able to do it.

It does not suffice to just write about it, be sorry and then forget about the issue. Are we doing anything to improve our surroundings? We still continue to buy larger cars and more cars and contribute to the poison in the atmosphere. There is dearth of oil with prices rising sky high and yet we end up buying more and more vehicles for each one of us in the family. Its actually time the electric cars took over. The need is to produce more electricity from the natural resources and make affordable and convenient cars which all of us can buy and use happily. And this is just one way we can reduce the danger to the world.

      Absolutely true, Namrata!

It looks like we CAN make a difference by TRYING to not depend on personal vehicles for avoidable requirements. As we can see, our city is already teeming with traffic, making commuting the last object of desire for many of us.

When I think of buying an eco-friendly car, I find out that they cost much higher than I can afford. It is because manufacturers invest money to create such cars and their import duties trigger the higher prices.

So, the key is to buy a car and use it only when you really need, right? Having said that, does taking my GF on a long-drive fall into the joy-ride category?

Well, you do the math :)
